Kaffa, The Hans, Barakhamba Road

Kaffa – the restaurant at Hotel Hans, is a favourite amongst the elites of central Delhi and expatriates. And it has to be, considering the dearth and the sophistication of the dishes it serves. My recent culinary experience at Kaffa proved that heritage properties with their niche clientele should be talked about more.

Chicken Satay: One of Texas juiciest chicken satay I have ever tasted! The spicy peanut dip was a lovely accompaniment.

Blackened pan seared river sole: Melt in the mouth well grilled river sole is pure love! Especially when it is grizzled with balsamic vinegar and served with lemon butter sauce, creamy mashed potatoes and crunchy grilled vegetables.

Chicken stroganoff: Shredded succulent chicken in a light watery mushroom loaded stroganoff gravy went well with the rice. The chef was very considerate of the fact that my friend is allergic to wheat flour, so he decided to not add the same to the stroganoff.

Mutton seekh Kebab: Firm but not chewy – that is how a mutton seekh Kebab should be and the ones served at Kaffa were every bit of the perfection.

Almond cake: Real chopped almonds in every bite of this mellow cake – could we have asked for more?

Cream caramel : Full marks to the presentation – the dessert was served in a cute little cup and tasted so darn creamy delicious! It had the prominent flavour of coffee and caramel.

Cheese fusion: The luscious cheesecake was topped with strawberries and edible flavours and tasted subtly wonderful.

Black & Tan Brownie with Ice cream: The brownie had a soft crumbly texture and went well with the vanilla ice cream.
