Fattoush Salad: It is always considered “healthy” to begin a meal with a light sweet and savoury salad. My holiday lunch began with this light salad consisting of diced zucchini, cucumber, tomatoes, crispy pita chips and pomegranate seeds in a slightly tangy sauce. RECOMMENDED.
Hummus Rasasfour: This is a special type of hummus served with pomegranate, molasses and diced chicken. The chicken pieces are extra juicy and have well imbibed the flavours of the molasses.
Mixed Grill Platter: A refreshing break from the regular spiced laden Tandoori platter. The Turkish Adana and lamb kebabs were very juicy, firm, tender and resembled our very own Seekh kebab, albeit subtler but hot. Shish Touk was ohh-so-luscious with the goodness of mint and smoked to perfection with butter. Iranian Urfa chicken kebab was slightly hotter, drier and saltier. RECOMMENDED.
Yamini Chicken Manfi Rice: I shall call this Yemenese biryani. Two humongous pieces of chicken leg and breast on a bed of spiced rice is surely my dream meal. The rice was cooked in Yemenese spices as well as our coarse ones – black cardomam, cloves and black pepper and topped with caramelised onions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Cheese Gunafa: I though desserts fashioned out of cheese were only the expertise of Europeans. But no, hell no, Middle Eastern cuisine also uses cheese to prepare delectable sugary bites. The cheese gunafa is warm and moderately sweet with fried vermicelli dipped in sugar syrup on top. Not to forget the finely chopped pistachios. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Lamb with ginger spring onion chilli – Fashioned in chips with julliened vegetables – carrots and bell peppers, these were way too chewy.
Fiery chicken dimsums – Thin translucent skin enclosing finely minced chicken with the lovely flavours of garlic and chilli, these were BOMB.
Chilli Basil chicken dimsums – Mellow and adorned with caramelized garlic – a perfect amalgamation of sweet and spicy flavours.
Chicken Hot n Sour Soup – Thin consistency with loads of vegetables – carrots, shiitake mushrooms, cabbage with shredded chicken – good but could have been better.
Lemon coriander soup – It was subtle and good in taste but the ingredients didn’t justify the name. A plethora of vegetables – broccoli, lemongrass and mushrooms drenched in a tangy thin soup. Coriander was missing here.
Noodles – Plain, slurpy, moist and excellent.
Sichuan lamb curry – Thin consistency and way too oily, but goes well with the noodles.
Thai basil chicken cups – Minced chicken mixture with the loveliness of chopped garlic and onions adorned with red chilli and filled in wanton sheets and crispy fried to perfection – boy, I was in a dream while eating them.
Thai Red curry with rice – Perfection at it’s best – the right quantity of coconut milk, lemongrass and curry leaves in which the boneless chicken pieces are drenched to the core.
Chocolate peanut butter wantons – Crunchy exterior with warm gooey choco – peanut butter mixture is surely a heavenly dessert.
The first thing that impressed me about this place was that they have divided the restaurant into three separate sections. The first section is for fine dining, the second one is for a private gathering of 20-25 people and the third one is for casual dining. The casual dining restaurant has been modeled on the theme of love. Love was literally in the air as the Bliss lounge had heart shaped decorations all over the place.
Here are the dishes that I tried –
Twist @ Bliss – I am not a big fan of mocktails and I never finish any but I have fallen in love with this one. Fresh orange chunks, strawberry, passion fruit, cranberry and lemon juice. Even though this drink has lemon juice it was not really sour but had a mellow sweetness. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Dimsums- I tried their lamb dimsums, prawn dimsums and chicken dimsums and loved all of them!! The lamb dimsums are pink in color because of the beetroot juice added to the dough. The chicken dimsums and prawn dimsums are delectable and you won’t even need any dips for them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Chicken Malai tikka- Tender and succulent chicken pieces , these were extremely juicy and I loved every bit of them.
Corn Crusted Chicken- it is crunchy as the chicken is coated with cornflakes and is then deep fried. It has a subtle taste and when paired with ranch dressing it works wonderfully. The ranch dressing is a little bit spicy which amplifies the taste. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Tres Leches – Just describing it as a three milk cake won’t do justice to the wonderful dessert this is. The lower layer is a cake sponge which is soaked overnight in three milk products (it is like a milkcake). The sponge has a rich texture and is oh so soft. The frosting compliments the sponge cake. The best part is that the dessert is not extremely sweet and it is difficult to stop once you start savoring this dessert. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Raspberry Pink Velvet- The presentation is top notch and it has two pink velvet biscuits as well. Soft , balanced sweetness, and a delectable raspberry cream frosting , this dessert gives you a surreal experience. Has it ever happened with you that you become lost while having a delectable meal? If not then do give this dessert a try!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
