Bunker, Cross Point Mall, Dlf Phase 4, Gurgaon

There will be many themed restaurants but none of them will be like Bunker. Based on the theme of Indian armed forces, this restaurant will take you to a different world altogether where everything – ranging from décor to cocktails will be based on military forces. There are hanging lights which have the army cap placed on them as a shield, the sauce is served from a red coloured pistol, the Italian and continental dishes are named as “foreign postings”, the beer is served in army style mugs, servers are dressed in army pants and the various ranks of all the military, navy and air force is shown on a board. The handle of their door is a dummy of the AK-47 rifle. There are small leaflets present on each table informing us about the history of Indian army.

The place is small and can seat around 40 people at max.

Here are the items I tried :

Chat pata fries : These were complimentary and came in a military style tiffin with a pistol to serve the sauce. The fries were good to taste and were topped with chaat masala and suited our Indian palette.

Jalapeno rolls : Heaven I would say! Jalapeno alongwith melted cheese rolled in fine sheets and served with sweet chilli sauce. They were not very cheesy and were light on stomach.

Falafel with hummus : Not good. The hummus tasted raw and the amount of olive oil was negligible in it. There were no slices olives as well. One could actually taste the small raw crumbs of chickpea in it. The falafel was average and was not very crispy as it should be.

Fish fingers : These were juicy and tender and broke easily. Served with the tartar sauce.

The service is good here.
