The proliferation of delivery based restaurants in Gurgaon is a new trend and a host of cafes are also serving budget friendly dishes. I recently tried Café Gatherings which will remind you of the cafes of North and South Campus of Delhi. Here are the items that I savoured :
Chocolate Oreo shake: Since this was delivered, so the oreo pieces had got dissolved in the shake. Therefore, it tasted remotely like oreo and more like chocolate shake. The consistency was a bit runny –could have been thicker.
Rosemary roasted chicken with potato mash and grilled vegetables: The chicken was juicy and chewy but the flavour of rosemary was missing. The mashed potatoes did not taste like one – white in colour and lumpy. Infact it seemed as if we were having finely cut boiled potatoes. Could have been more flavourful. The grilled vegetables were fine.
Fettuccini alfredo : Amazingly done! The fettuccini was cooked to perfection and the white sauce was sticking well to it. However, they can reduce the amount of cheese or increase the amount of cream in it so that it does not harden after a while. RECOMMENDED.
Pesto Chicken Spaghetti: Chicken was cooked well but the whole dish hardens after a while. The quantity of cheese can be decreased and amount of cream and pesto can be increased to have a smoother texture.
