Sushi Junction, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi

Sushi Junction continues to be my favourite when it comes to relishing authentic Japanese cuisine. Their food quality is superiors, packaging is clean and attractive and they always deliver on time. (Unlike other “Sushi specialising places”).

They recently opened an outlet in Vasant Vihar and have introduced a new range of pokebowls, so as expected, I could not be far behind in exploring dishes.

Red Curry Chicken Dumpling: I have a thing for simplicity and unadorned items, so these dimsums are definitely “my” thing. The fine chicken mince with salt and subtle condiments is densely packed in a sticky starchy skin which is crystal clear. Please do not expect any extra spiciness or hotness though you have an option to dip these beauties in the creamy Thai red curry sauce. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Rainbow Sushi Roll: The goodness or rather the “meatiness” of the whole non-vegetarian sushi kingdom – tuna, salmon, prawns and crabs packed into these vibrant rolls is something which often comes in the dreams of many sushi lovers. Add to it, the creaminess of avocado, the subtlety and slight sournessof sticky rice doused in vinegar – we have a volcano of flavours. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Prawn Pokebowl: The term “explosion of flavours” is more pronounced here with no subtlety at all. The tempura fried prawn is chewy and fresh and along with the freshly chopped mangoes, daikon (Japanese raddish), cucumber, papaya, tomatoes and onions presented a lovely bowl meal. Not to forget the spicy mango puree and the cool mint dip. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
