Biryani Blues has made a name for itself in the Hyderabadi biryani market. Their biryanis are amazingly well done and a treat to the spice loving biryani lover. They recently opened their doors at Malviya Nagar and I am pretty sure that south Delhiites are up for a treat! I won’t bore you guys with more description and move straightaway to the items I tried recently :

Chicken 65 : My tryst with this cracker of a dish went so well that I am still dreaming about it. I love South Indian flavours and when chicken comes in those relishing seasonings, one is left gasping for more. The chicken pieces are lightly tossed in spicy mixture of garlic, green chillies, red chilli and curry leaves. The pungency of garlic, the minty flavour of curry leaves and the sharpness of the chillies complement each other so well. The best part is that the chillies and the curry leaves are not burnt yet they are slightly crispy. And the chicken is tender, juicy, moist and falls off easily. RECOMMENDED

Hyedrabadi chicken biryani : As expected, this was spicy. Way too much spicy but likeable. Just open the lid of the box and a heavya aroma of green cardomam greets you. The chicken pieces are so well laden with spices and are soft and juicy to the core. The rice is aromatic, long grained and reek well of garam masala. RECOMMENDED.

Saalan : This saalan is a typical south Indian curry – coconut milk, rai seeds and curry leaves. Having this one with the biryani gives a totally new name to the expression : melting pot of flavours.
