Yo China has been my favourite Chinese restaurant for a very long time. I love their thin noodles as well as their scrumptious appetisers. They have recently changed their menu as well as décor and the cafe seems more welcoming.
The service here us slow and the servers are courteous but a bit lost. They have to be reminded time and again about the order as well as the bill.
Here are the items I tried here :
Tai Chi chicken : Yo China’s Tai Chi chicken is to die for! The pieces are crispy and chewy from the outside and succulent from the inside and this contrast is good here. The chicken is cooked in honey chilli sauce along with bell peppers and onions and topped with chopped spring onions. A must try.
Veg Hakka noodles : As mentioned before, the noodles are thin and the juliennes of carrots, cabbage, bell peppers and onions are equally thin. A very fine dish and good in quantity.
Chicken in dried red chilli and water chestnut : Chicken and water chestnut do go well together. While eating this dish, the spiciness level is slowly build up – you feel it has subtle flavours initially but towards the end, you are gasping for water. The slices of water chestnut give a fresh flavour to the whole ensemble. The dried red chillies, chopped garlic and spring onions give an Oriental touch. A lovely dish.
