Narmada river is accorded the same status in Madhya Pradesh as The Ganges is accorded in the northern states. “Maa Narmada” is the preferred goddess for the people here. This picture was taken at the Maheshwar Narmada ghat on the last day of Shraadh in 2019. I really wish the ghat was cleaner. Please travel responsibly…

When magnificent Madhya Pradesh brought a smile on our faces. Picture taken in 2019, please travel responsibly and safely.

The whole span of Ahilyabai Holkar Fort can only be relished while enjoying the boat ride in the mighty Narmada.

Ahilya Bai Fort is a well maintained fort complex. The tourists are not allowed to throng the temple area with their shoes on and the floors are cleaned daily. The only menace I could see was a slew of bat nests.

Rain is very cruel in leaving its traces.

Deserted ghat around Narmada

Lost in the magic of Narmada.

Boat ride along Narmada.Boat rides are so refreshing and peaceful!

When you are not in the mood to visit huge magnificent forts, why not explore the simple and serene Ahilyabai Holkar fort at Maheshwar? The river view of Narmada from the open arched windows of the fort complex is an experience in itself!
